What is Propolis?
Propolis (also known as bee-Propolis) is a resinous substance collected from the buds of some trees and flowers by bees to repair damage to their hives, and to protect the hive from disease.

Where does the word Propolis come from?
The word translates from Greek as Defender of the city. 'Pro' as in before and 'Polis' as city.

What are the main benefits of Propolis?
Propolis demonstrates strong antimicrobial properties against various bacteria and fungal infestations. It aids the cardiovascular system and blood circulation; Ear, nose, throat and bronchial tract; relieving Bronchial and pulmonary ailments in general; The Digestive System; Genital and Urinary Tract; Dermatology.

Propolis should be thought of as natures natural antibiotic, it boosts the immune system by stimulating the Thymus gland and therefore white blood cell production.

Is it true that Propolis can cure diabetes?
It is true that Propolis can reduce the symptoms of diabetes, by helping the pancreas to produce insulin. Propolis can work particularly well with Royal Jelly, although we do not advise taking Apimist, due to the high fructose content.

It should also be noted that diabetes is a chronic condition, with no known cure. Our aim when advising people on taking Propolis and Royal Jelly, is to provide them with the nutrients to reduce their symptoms, and hence their frequency of insulin injections or tablet usage.

Is it true that Propolis should not come in contact with metal and only non-metal utensils should be used?
Yes, we would not advise bringing Propolis into contact with metal, as this can tarnish the product.

What is the recommended dosage of Propolis?
Our capsules contain 1000 milligrams of pure bee Propolis and we would advise taking one each day, or following the directions of your therapist.

Is there any danger of overdose with Propolis or any of the bee products or is it just a simple case of wastage?
As our products are derived from purely natural sources, there are no dangers that we are aware of, although for obvious reasons of economy we do not advise taking any more than the dose as suggested by your therapist. Children over 4 and under 12 should take half the adult dose.
